How de-icing works
De-icing salt lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice and preventing bonding between ice and the surface below. Spread ahead of or during a freeze, it keeps roads, car parks and footpaths safe and trafficable.
The grade is chosen for spreadability and rapid action, sized for even coverage by hand or mechanical spreader, and can be supplied with an anti-caking treatment for reliable free flow from the stockpile.

Why this grade
Rapid freezing-point depression clears ice quickly and helps prevent re-bonding to the surface.
A graded particle size spreads evenly by hand or spreader, so no area is under- or over-treated.
Available loose or bagged, with stockpile and just-in-time delivery to hold the line through a cold spell.
Specification
Representative values
*Plain sodium chloride is effective to roughly −8 to −10 °C; performance depends on application rate and conditions. Values are representative and confirmed per order on the Certificate of Analysis.
